Major Moscow's Assaults Eliminate Electricity In Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were hurt while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced interruptions to water systems, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was killed in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Russian forces has increased attacks on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the G7 - in providing protection systems and implementing penalties," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen missiles attacked energy facilities, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were laboring to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, according to municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the city endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy died and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks come after evenings of aerial attacks in the territory, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to identify.

Authorities told journalists that Russia was deliberately attempting to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already affecting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and authorities were bracing for more assaults.
